And I also stumbled upon the legendary Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve.
This is what the curve says:
You learn something new, and your brain is like,
But here’s the kicker – if you don’t flex those memory muscles, your brain starts chucking out the info faster than you can say, “Ebbing-who?”
Within hours, you’ve lost about 60% of what you learned. A day later, it’s like, “What was I even talking about?” Another 30% down the memory drain. And after a week? Well, let’s just say your brain’s filing system is pretty ruthless – only about 10% of that precious info remains.
Imagine this. Your learners are knee-deep in EHR training, soaking up every detail like sponges. But fast-forward a few hours, and it’s like the brain hit the reset button overnight. Frustrating, right?
But wait, there’s more. Ever heard of interference theory? It’s like when your brain’s trying to juggle too many tasks at once, and some memories get lost in the shuffle. Or how about decay theory?
