Excel With 314e
This position leads the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of Epic applications. As a project manager, you’ll lead projects that help healthcare organizations improve care for their patients. You’ll use your project management skills to effectively track milestones, dependencies, as well as communication skills to present status updates to hospital leadership, lead meetings, motivate team members, track budget, escalate issues and risks, and continually assess upcoming phases and work to be assigned, such as end-user training.
Qualifications
We are especially interested in finding developers with experience either building web APIs with Go or experience with functional programming (e.g. Elixir, NodeJS, Clojure, F#). You might not have experience with all the technologies in our stack, but you are motivated to learn deeply. You will get the opportunity to work with both Go and Elixir with experienced team mates who can teach and pair with you to learn whatever you have less experience with.You care about security, code quality, scalability, performance, and simplicity. Above all, you seek operational excellence and apply the best engineering practices possible. Not everything that you or your team do can be perfect, but you make sure that you always know the trade-offs.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience with large, complex, Epic implementations/optimizations/support projects
- Ideally certified in one Epic application or module (not mandatory)
- Solid understanding of either EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient, Ancillary, Revenue Cycle, Access, Analytics, Integration or Training related workflows
- Ability to lead multiple teams effectively and interact with a wide variety of levels of personnel in a variety of settings
- Analytical ability necessary to evaluate effectiveness of operating procedures and make recommendations to improve efficiency
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel and other PM tools, along with excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong ability to influence others without direct lines of authority
- Willingness to travel, up to 80% post COVID-19
Role Objectives
- Provide planning, analysis, leadership, and oversight of Epic implementation for enterprise projects
- Responsible for coordination and status reporting of Epic project-oriented work, coordinating, assigning work across multiple work streams, and communication to appropriate stakeholders
- Drive decisions to Epic’s best practices and improve decision-making on Epic projects
- Identify and track project metrics leveraged in the decision-making processes
- Coordinate, facilitate, and monitor project milestones and budgets for assigned projects, including establishing and leading cross-functional teams
- Provide feedback to the project team on performance and make recommendations for improvement, both consultants and internal staff; include client management team as needed
- Recognize and reward others for their achievements
- Manage competing priorities and demands to operate in a changing environment
- Provide guidance, processes and tools to assist team members in organizing and prioritizing their efforts efficiently and delivering high quality results consistently and within timelines
- Attend all relevant project meetings, such as stakeholder meetings, build meetings, and ad hoc project meetings
- Anticipate problems and take decisive action, including escalation with client and 314e
- Prepare and conduct formal presentations for large groups and key decision-makers
